Banksy Work Stolen From Paris Recovered In Italy

A stolen work by Banksy has been recovered. It was found in a home in the Abruzzo region of Italy during a search by authorities.

The piece depicts a person in mourning on a black background. The illusive artist painted it on the door of the Bataclan music hall in Paris in 2018 for the third anniversary of the November 13, 2015 terrorist attack that claimed 130 lives throughout the city, 90 inside the theater.

The sources were not authorized to speak on the record, and they declined to give more details of the investigation that led them to the discovery. The Italian prosecutor leading the investigation is expected to give details at a news conference Thursday, the sources said.
