Today on On The Radar we had the one and only Ciggy Blacc AKA the Chosen One. The young rapper who just dropped his brand new EP of the same name has been making a ton of noise in 2021. With the success of his “Dishonest” challenge bringing together a ton of the cities youngest talent the rapper now has his sites set on becoming the next big artist out of the city.
When it came to his new EP “The Chosen One”, Ciggy Explained to us that he has been through a lot in his life, because of the hurdles and obstacles he has overcome he says that he’s just been feeling like he’s the chosen one.
“Im the chosen one bro, it's just certain things that are going on, and im like ain't nobody going to do this so, im the chosen one, the album cover is the baby picture I was in Haiti”
After the release of “Dishonest,” some fans were worried that Ciggy would only be making melodic music going forward, explaining that the reason why he went that way was because you cant be afraid to try new things, especially with your sound. With the record racking up hundreds of thousands of views online and the success of the challenge it's safe to say it was a success. However, you can definitely expect plenty of drill and melodic drill music from Ciggy in the future.
“You can't be afraid to try new things bro, you never bro, what if you try that ne thing and its hits, ima different type of artist I’m not afraid to get into new waves the melodic waves and emotional drill that’s what I call it, Rocko Ballin is a part of that, so I be doing that too, I’m mixing it, I can do everything”
